The Challenge
Splashtown Waterpark was looking to undergo the largest expansion in the park’s history at Darien Lake Resort in Upstate NY. Given a completion window of just three months, ADG was engaged to design and build a 1,000ft lazy river and 140,000 gallon wave pool and increase amenities, support structures and facilities, and install new filtration systems.
The Solution
The newly expanded Splashtown Waterpark features an additional five acres of completely new park space which includes a new bathhouse, increased deck and lounge areas, new cabanas and a complete makeover of the waterslide complex. Key attractions to the park are the 1,000ft lazy river and 7,600 sqft beach-entry wave pool with variable wave patterns to transform the guest experience at the touch of a button.
Along with overseeing the placement and installation of various components of the park, ADG constructed and installed the integrated related circulation and filtration systems for water purity and safety.
The Result
ADG broke ground in February, completing all design and construction in three months ensuring a Memorial Day grand opening. Since its opening, Splashtown Waterpark continues to draw guests from all major metro centers within several hours of its vicinity, making it a major destination attraction in its market.
