Hurricane Harbor in Eureka, Missouri wanted to develop an expansion to the existing Six Flags Theme Park and build what would be the single largest capital upgrade in park history at the time. ADG’s role was to provide complete turnkey design, engineering and construction for the park and meet two primary objectives:
- Design and build a 12-acre waterpark in under 10 months.
- Incorporate a Tahitian-theme throughout the park and integrate into attractions.
Built by ADG without obstructing current park operations, several key attractions were added including a 30,000 sqft Wave Pool and Adventure River surrounded by heavily themed landscape. A 15,000 sqft family activity lagoon with interactive play areas and slide complex is highlighted by a 60ft tall/160ft wide Tahitian volcano in which water descends its front and “steam” erupts from its top.
The conceptual design, engineering, and construction of Hurricane Harbor was completed in less than 10 months, creating Missouri’s biggest and most popular family attraction. ADG assisted in differentiating this park from local competitors through unique attractions located within a vibrant themed environment. The park continues to elicit rave reviews from visitors across the U.S.
