ADG Wins 2024 Aquatics International Dream Designs Award for Roaring Springs Expansion

Cohoes, NY – August 9, 2024 – Aquatic Development Group (ADG) is proud to announce that their work on the Roaring Springs Expansion in Meridian, Idaho, has been honored with the prestigious 2024 Aquatics International Dream Designs Award. Each year, Aquatics International honors 10 aquatics facilities for their artistry, innovation and responsiveness to their community's needs. This award recognizes the project’s innovative design and its successful integration of Idaho’s natural beauty and cultural heritage into a world-class waterpark experience.

Roaring Springs, the largest waterpark in the Northwest, embarked on a significant expansion aimed at providing new and exciting experiences for its visitors. ADG had the role of design, construction, and supply of the wave generation system for this project, which has now increased the park's size by nearly 40%, solidifying its position as one of the largest waterparks in the United States.

“We are thrilled that Roaring Springs has been recognized with the Dream Designs award,” said Jim Dunn, President of ADG. “This project exemplifies our commitment to delivering creative projects that not only entertain but also resonate with the local community and environment.”

Key highlights of the Roaring Springs Expansion include:

  • Class 5 Canyon: Idaho’s first action river, featuring ADG’s WaveTek™ river wave generation system. This 14,250-square-foot adventure river allows guests to ride the waves using kickboards, offering a thrilling, fast-paced experience inspired by Idaho’s world-class rafting rivers.

  • Camp IdaH2O: An 8,000-square-foot multi-level play structure with 100 interactive features, including the state-themed "Tippin’ Tater" dump bucket, which honors Idaho’s famous potato industry. The play area is surrounded by an 8-inch-deep lagoon with water cannons, spray zones, and climbing nets, all designed to reflect Idaho’s natural beauty and wildlife.

  • Critter Crossing: A 3,200-square-foot activity pool with forest-themed floating features and water basketball, designed to engage children in skill-based activities.

In addition to these attractions, the expansion includes 16 luxury cabanas, additional parking, and strategically designed pedestrian walkways to integrate the new area seamlessly with the existing park. This design ensures that guests can easily navigate the expanded park and enjoy the new attractions.

Roaring Springs’ expansion not only enhances the park's ability to provide fun and thrills but also deepens its connection to Idaho’s rich cultural and natural heritage, truly making it the “Gem” of the Gem State.

ADG is honored to have been a part of this award-winning project and looks forward to continuing to create innovative aquatic environments!
