ADG Breaks Ground on New Twin Tides® Wave Pool, Coming to Princeton WV
Cohoes, NY. — March 13, 2026 — Aquatic Development Group has broken ground on a new aquatic destination coming to Princeton, West Virginia, featuring ADG’s proprietary, fourth of its kind, Twin Tides® Dual Beach Entry Wave Pool, with the project anticipated to open to the public in July this year.
Located in southern West Virginia, Princeton is a small-town community looking to expand recreational offerings for residents and visitors alike. When city officials began exploring the addition of a wave attraction in the summer of 2024, they recognized an opportunity to fill a gap in the regional market, as no wave pools currently serve the surrounding area.
After consulting with aquatic design/build & wave system manufacturing firm Aquatic Development Group (ADG), the city selected the Twin Tides® Dual Entry Wave Pool, a compact yet high-capacity attraction designed specifically for markets where space and budgets are key considerations.
“A project like this allows communities to create a destination experience without the footprint of a traditional wave pool,” said David Keim, ADG’s Director, Public Markets Business Development. “Twin Tides® doubles the wave action and capacity while maintaining a manageable size for municipal parks.”

A New Kind of Wave Pool Experience
Twin Tides® offers a unique twist on the classic wave pool concept. The attraction features dual beach entries on both ends, allowing guests to enter from either side and swim through the moving currents as waves rock & roll across the pool. The entire pool surface is accessible to guests—a simple twist on the traditional wave pool design.
Despite its 7,000-square-foot footprint, the wave pool can accommodate 300+ patrons, effectively doubling the capacity of many traditional wave pools of similar size.
Key features include:
Dual beach entry
300+ person capacity
7,000 sq. ft. footprint
4-foot primary max depth play area with gradual beach entry
The design also creates additional deck space around the pool, providing room for lounge areas, shade structures, and other revenue-generating amenities.
Designed for Family Appeal
The Princeton WV wave pool installation will feature several interactive elements designed to enhance the guest experience. Multiple spray and play features will be located along one pool apron, and a themed children’s slide will provide an additional activity for younger visitors.
These amenities help transform the facility from a simple municipal pool into a multi-experience aquatic venue designed to serve children and families throughout the region.
With a total project cost of approximately $5 million, the investment reflects the city’s commitment to enhancing quality of life for residents while creating a new summer destination for the region.
The project team includes:
Designer & Builder: Aquatic Development Group
Wave Equipment & Filtration Systems: Aquatic Development Group
General Contractor: Swope Construction Company
Children’s Slide Manufacturer: Raindrop Products
Spray Features Manufacturer: Waterplay
Once complete, the new facility will bring a unique wave attraction to southern West Virginia and provide a vibrant gathering place for families, residents, and visitors.
The City of Princeton expects to welcome its first guests when the new aquatic destination opens in early July, 2026.
