Aquatic Development Group announces the completion and opening of the new Splash Town Waterpark expansion at the Darien Lake Resort.
Cohoes, New York May 31, 2010 – Aquatic Development Group, Inc., one of the premier designers and builders of waterparks and attractions is proud to announce the completion and opening of the Splash Town Waterpark expansion to the Darien Lake Resort. The newly expanded Splash Town Water Park features three all-new attractions on an additional 5 acres of completely new park space, a new bathhouse, more deck and lounging space and new cabanas and a complete makeover of the water slide complex, now called Swirl City. Breaking ground in February, Aquatic Development Group developed the entire expansion design plan and completed the construction project in 3 months, to insure a timely grand opening for Memorial Day. Along with overseeing the placement and installation of various components of the park including, the new Swirl City Slide Complex, bath houses and support buildings, Aquatic Development used it’s in-house manufacturing capabilities to construct and install the integrated Lazy River Float Ride and Lazy Days Lagoon wave pool as well as constructing and installing all the related circulation and filtration systems.

Guests will be able to enjoy a relaxing ride on the new 1,000-foot long, lazy river. Designed with an impressive beach entry wave lagoon, the attraction will give families and friends plenty of room to float and relax together on the meandering river. Guests will be able to swim in the Lazy River or float on inflated tubes. Other planned highlights of the ride include geysers, a waterfall and spray features to help keep guests refreshed on hot summer days. The expansive, new wave pool will encompass more than 7,600 square feet and hold more than 140,000 gallons of water. It will also feature the patented WaveTek® system capable of producing five different wave patterns creating rolling waves up to four feet in height. Also heightening the patron’s experience will be the “beachfront” deck space for sunning, zero depth family friendly pool entry and serene waterfall views. The new Splash town Water Park attractions are cleansed by Whitten® Filtration Systems and waves are generated by WaveTek® wave generation equipment.
“The addition of the slide complex and the lazy river/wave pool integrated attraction has turned Splash Town into a unique venue that can stand on its own as an entertainment venue and has greatly enhanced our existing park here at Darien Lake,” says Randy Drew, President of Parc Management. “We gave Aquatic Development Group a very small window to design and build the entire expansion; clearly there is only one company in the water park design and construction business that could deliver this kind of project and they delivered everything we asked for on time and on budget.” Aquatic Development Group has participated in more than 150 water park construction projects across the United States and the world.
