Maeva Surf in Laval, Canada Combines State-of-the-Art Retail with FlowRider® Surf Simulation IN THE NEWS | AQUATIC DEVELOPMENT GROUP | November 10, 2010

Cohoes, New York November 20, 2010 – Aquatic Development Group, Inc., one of the premier designers and builders of waterparks and attractions around the world announced today the completion and grand opening of a new indoor Double FlowRider at Maeva Surf in Laval, Canada.  The new FlowRider will bring unlimited boogie boarding, knee boarding and flowboarding to Maeva Surf’s new cutting edge entertainment and retail complex.

An exciting new concept combining retail with the wave surfing experience

Maeva Surf has taken a very forward thinking approach to combining retail and entertainment.  The new facility boasts Canada’s first “stand alone” indoor FlowRider (independent of a waterpark or hotel) as part of a 4,000 sq. ft. of retail space with dedicated food service and viewing area.

The vision of Patricia Depuy, owner of Maeva Surf, was to offer an exciting interactive environment that goes beyond traditional shopping by combining state of the art retail with the opportunity to engage in simulated surfing.  She chose the FlowRider installation as a way to differentiate Maeva surf from other action-sports and surf-oriented lifestyle shops.

The FlowRider portion of the store has its own entrance with modern changing rooms and both elevated and floor-level table seating allowing plenty of guests to experience the action.  Flowboarding draws spectators who are also likely to shop.  Patrons watch though large windows from inside the store.  The environment is managed by a powerful and sophisticated system that maintains fresh air and prevents condensation from developing on the windows.  Food and beverages are offered in the viewing areas, sales of which typically benefit considerably from the spectator environment created by the FlowRider.
