(Cohoes, NY) Aquatic Development Group, Inc. announces that their ADG Mountain Coaster has been selected for installation at Copper Mountain Resort in Copper Mountain, CO. Slated for installation during the summer of 2017, once completed; Copper can tout its coaster as the longest in North America.
The ADG designed and manufactured coaster will have a track of 5,800 feet, including a total descent of almost 4,000 feet, and a vertical drop of 430 feet. Copper Mountain is planning to run the mountainside attraction during both the summer and winter for optimal year-round attendance.
Copper Mountain Resort will also add a handful of year-round upgrades including snowmaking and, drainage system improvements and, a one-mile bike trail, but the biggest addition to the property’s offerings is the ADG Mountain Coaster.
“It’s definitely good news for the team here at Copper and the Copper community,” said Gary Rodgers, Copper Mountain President and CEO, “We think (the mountain coaster) is going to add another element to summer and winter programming, and help round out our offering of summer activities and be just the draw to bring the community to Copper.”
ADG’s Mountain Coaster is an American-made customized attraction that provides year-round excitement and increased revenues. The ADG Mountain Coaster is a driver controlled ride and with the ability to control your own speed, this ride appeals to guests of every age and thrill level.
“We’ve seen great success with ADG at our sister resort Killington Mountain (VT), so it was an easy decision to have the company build our new coaster at Copper,” says Shawn McDonald, Director of Mountain Sports at Copper Mountain. “As a resort striving to offer guests the best experience year-round, ADG’s ability to build a coaster that can operate in both the winter and summer months is important for our business. ADG has a proven safety record and a passion for what they do so in our minds, ADG was the obvious choice.”
ADG’s Mountain Coaster was approved by the White River National Forest on Wednesday 3/8/17. This approval is mandated by the federal government under the ‘Ski Area Recreational Opportunities Enhancement Act’, which was designed in order to provide existing ski resorts with the chance to pursue summer activities on federal lands.
Construction on the ADG Mountain Coaster at Copper Mountain Resort is set to begin once enough snow melts off following winter closure. The attraction is expected to open late summer or fall.
