Whitten Commercial Sand Filters

Whitten LogoBest Commercial Swimming Pool Filtration Systems – Made in America

There isn’t a commercial pool or water attraction in the world that can be successful if the water is not crystal clear, clean and safe. Filtration systems may not be the sexiest part of an aquatic center or waterpark, but they are arguably the single most important component of running a successful facility.

Running a cost-effectively filtration system is more important than ever before. Whitten’s line of commercial sand filters represents over 40 years of innovation and operational experience.

Sand Filters are used in more swimming pool systems around the world than any other. Today’s Whitten sand filter pool filtration systems produce cleaner water, are simpler to manage, consume less chemicals and filtration media, and save more water than other sand and regenerative media filtration systems.

The Cost-Saving BiFlow Filter

The embodiment of the evolution in modern filtration technology is Whitten’s BiFlow filter system. The Bi-Flow utilizes multi-flow technology to deliver exceptional filtration capability.

  • Environmentally friendly “green” technology
  • Reduces backwash waste water by up to 60%
  • Traps crypto when used with an approved (PRS) particle reduction chemical system
  • Helps maintain propoer TDS
  • TWICE the filtration in HALF the space
  • Reduces energy and chemical costs due to backwash savings
  • Saves labor and media replenishment costs associated with regenerative media

With a Whitten BiFlow filter there is little to manage. The pool water filtration system can be fully automated, and requires no bumping or regular additions of media to keep the system filtering at peak efficiency.

Consider a Whitten BiFlow to maximize the benefits of filtration capacity and cost management for your commercial aquatic facility.

A Commercial Sand Filter For Every Application

While the Whitten BiFlow Filter offers superior technology and features for most aquatic facilities, Whitten recognizes that every recirculation system has unique requirements and that no single filter design will work in all cases. Whitten can custom-engineer a filtration system to your specifications.

Multi-Cell Filters

The Multi-Cell filter was first introduced to the industry by Whitten as an innovative means for saving space and adding efficiency. This was accomplished through a unique design of stacking multiple chambers/filter beds in a single filter tank. In addition to the space saving design, these NSF listed filters allow for significantly reduced backwash volumes and the flexibility of backwashing each cell independently. These proven, reliable systems are available in carbon steel and stainless steel and can be internally and externally coated with a variety of protective coatings.

HVS Filtration System

For filtration of large aquatic complexes the Whitten High Rate Vacuum Sand Filter is perhaps the industry’s most used system. These filters are high volume water purification plants that can centrally filter multiple pools or aquatic attractions. They have an impressive filtration capacity of up to 3000 GPM and are field constructed concrete chambers/vaults. Multiple configurations and control options are available with the HVS system.

HVS-M Filtration System

Much like the larger HVS system, the HVS-M is a field constructed concrete chamber/vault system that delivers high flow vacuum filtration in a centrally located mechanical room. They are generally smaller configurations than the HVS filter and the area of the vaults start at only 30 square feet. The HVS-M delivers to the aquatic designer high turnover rates with affordable and efficient operation.

HVS-B Filtration System

Vacuum filtration can be achieved in a tank configuration when using Whitten High Rate Vacuum Bi-Flow Filters (HVS-B). These stainless steel systems may be installed above-deck, at deck level or with vented closed-tank systems below deck. The design of these systems delivers two square feet of filter area for one square foot of tank size. Vacuum Bi-Flow filters can even be fabricated in modular sections for use on projects with limited access.
