The Challenge
Six Flags New England is the largest amusement park in Massachusetts and the oldest in the Six Flags chain. With growth and new ownership rides were improved and water play attractions were added. Six Flags enlisted ADG to design and build a 6-acre waterpark with space for future growth and complete an additional 3-acre expansion the following year.
The Solution
Seamless design helped ADG to blend the new waterpark with existing park attractions, increasing revenue and complementing the Six Flags brand. Island Kingdom includes a 25,000 sqft wave pool, a 1,000ft Adventure River with rolling waves, cascading waterfalls and exciting geysers, and a 15,000 sqft children’s activity area and slide complex.
As part of the expansion, ADG installed a 15,000 sqft beach-entry pool with a Wave River, second interactive children’s play structure, and four high-energy tube slides.
The Result
From the earliest conceptual design and engineering, all the way through construction, ADG completed the Caribbean-themed, six-acre waterpark on-time and on-budget, without disrupting park operations. Island Kingdom remains a strong customer draw to this popular amusement park substantially increasing guest attendance rates.
