The Challenge
Silver Dollar City Corporation needed to develop a waterpark with a strong entertainment experience while capturing the beauty and theme of the Smoky Mountains. ADG was engaged to create a unique environment experience in a new waterpark that would highlight the Smoky Mountain surrounding area and feature innovative attractions. ADG also was in charge of supporting facilities and engineer/construct all related mechanical and filtration systems.
The Solution
ADG developed a site plan that emphasized the natural beauty of the land while meeting the entertainment, operational and budget goals of the client. Throughout the park, visitors pass through area-indigenous landscaping complete with views of towering hardwoods and a 28ft waterfall that cascades over a 300ft long precipice.
Utilizing the uniquely shaped land, ADG situated new attractions throughout the 25-acre waterpark including a 25,000 sqft wave pool, 1,500ft lazy river, 8,000 sqft landing pool, a children’s interactive area, waterslides, a family raft ride, numerous support facilities and related mechanical & filtration systems.
The Result
ADG met all goals, developing a waterpark that generates excitement while capturing the land’s natural beauty. Since its expansion, attendance rates continue to increase at Dollywood’s Splash Country while welcoming visitors from across the U.S.
